Learning Process Questionnaire (LPQ)

Ages: All

The LPQ was developed to explore motives and strategies that students use in their learning. Important approaches to learning can be identified. These are identified as: a surface approach, a deep approach, an achieving approach, and a deep-achieving approach, which is a composite of the previous two. These approaches to learning give insight into a student’s motives and strategies used when learning and studying.
These profiles represent an individual’s general orientation to learning, which is a composite of motivational states and patterns of strategy. This questionnaire gives a process perspective on how students typically handle academic tasks. Such information can be invaluable to help students with problems in learning and studying.
